Double Basses
Pablo Guiñez began his musical studies in Santiago, Chile, under Professor Alejandra Santa Cruz. He has obtained his Licensure and Bachelor’s degrees in Double bass Performance from the University of Chile. After that, he started studying at Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, where he graduated under Esko Laine. Pablo has perfected his skills in masterclasses with Klaus Stoll, Jane Saksala and Barbara Sanderling. In his country, he’s worked with National Youth Symphony and Chamber Orchestra of Santiago Municipal Theatre.
Pablo has participated in the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival for two years, performing tours in Germany, Hungary, Brazil and Japan, where he also performed in concert with the World Youth Orchestra. He has also appeared in performances with soloists such as Lang Lang, Midori, Mischa Maisky and the conductors Christoph Eschenbach, Gustavo Dudamel, Iván Fischer, Zubin Mehta and Yutaka Sado.
In 2011, at the South of Brazil, he was a soloist with Camerata Antiqua and Orchestra of the Federal University of Paraná, with which he has promoted the world premiere of El espiritu de Reinohuelén, a peice by Harry Crowl dedicated to him. As a guest musician, he has toured Latin America in concerts with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. Pablo has also been the Principal Double bass with Camerata Antiqua and Blumenau Chamber Orchestra.
